5 WEIRD MARRIAGE ADVICE WOMEN GET BEFORE THEIR WEDDING

People won’t stop, will not stop giving weird marriage advice right before your wedding and it’ll mostly come from your mama’s friend, Nudrat aunty or it’ll probably be Nasreen maami, whom you only get to see when it’s time to poke in someone’s business.

While some weird marriage advice may come from a safe place because these aunties and relatives think they know best, but some just give it because they can’t help it. And what’s the fun without some rishtedar making you feel awkward in front of all of your friends because she got the same advice when she was getting married.

But what they should know is that, there’s a difference between being nosy and giving advice that’s helpful. By the way, you should look into 5 advice every girl and boy should know for her relationship to work.

So here are 5 pieces of weird marriage advice women (often) get right before their wedding!

STOP TALKING TO YOUR GUY FRIENDS

Why should I stop talking to my guy friends? Has anyone asked the boy if she should stop talking to his girl friends also? This in no way means you compete with your partner, however it’s always best to have some close and trusted friends around you and ease your partner into becoming friends with them as well.

BUY SEXY LINGERIE

Aunties, you need to keep your thoughts to yourself and have some boundaries please? Yes, you’re older, (wiser, if you say) and experienced, but I’m not ready to discuss my private life with you, nor do I need advice on how to keep my husband happy in the bedroom.

IT’S TIME YOU LEARNT HOW TO COOK

My mother didn’t know how to cook when she got married and she was saved by one of her favourite cooking books. So, thanks, I’ll definitely manage, but I just don’t want you all to force me into doing it because it’s my duty to feed my husband and the whole clan.

BETA, PLEASE LOSE SOME WEIGHT

People become so invested in your appearance right before your wedding. Get facials to counter that dryness, oil your hair and the worse, lose some weight. Thank you, I’m fine however I am. I will do what I feel is the best for me (no offence).

YOU NEED TO LEARN TO COMPROMISE

Yes! Marriage requires one to compromise (I understand that) and to learn to develop a (constructive) tolerance level if they want their marriage to work, but people seriously need to learn to mind their own business and avoid unwelcome marital advice and give suggestions. I’m a big girl!

What’s the weirdest piece of advice you got before your wedding? 🙂
